Agro-Tech Revolution: How Argos's Greenhouse Innovations are Transforming Indonesian Agriculture

In the heart of Indonesia, where fertile land meets advanced technology, ARGOS (Agri Project) LTD, the well-known greenhouse solutions provider, is leading an extraordinary agricultural revolution. With over two decades of expertise in the design and supply of greenhouses, Argos, together with the Indonesian representative PT. NIRWANA HIJAU NUSANTARA, recently completed an advanced greenhouse project and agro technologies cultivation in an open area, aiming to redefine modern farming methods adapted to the conditions and climate of Indonesia.

Cultivating Excellence: Vegetable Trellis in High-tech Greenhouses

At the heart of this agricultural revolution lies a demonstration farm equipped with state-of-the-art computerized greenhouses. These greenhouses are used as a cultivation area for an impressive variety of vegetables, from juicy tomatoes to hot chili peppers, green leaves, and more. The project encompasses a diverse spectrum of crops that thrive in the controlled environment of these greenhouses and also Agro technologies for cultivation in open fields.

Hydroponic Control: Precision Farming in Cocopeat Grow Bags

The growth inside these greenhouses is a testament to precision agriculture. Argos uses a soilless hydroponic system that employs cocopot grow bags. These grow bags come equipped with a built-in draining gutter system, ensuring optimal growth and efficient space utilization. The amazing feature of this system is its water collection and circulation system. Drainage water is collected and analyzed for quality, allowing rapid disease detection and precise adjustment of EC and pH levels.

Automatic Precision: The Nerve Center of Irrigation

One of the outstanding features of this project is the fully automatic irrigation system. Controlled by a central computer, this system not only ensures consistent irrigation but also provides precise doses of fertilizers to the crops. This level of automation not only reduces labor costs but also optimizes crop growth.

Structural Brilliance: Galvanized Steel and Polyethylene Sheeting

The greenhouses themselves are a testament to engineering excellence. Constructed with galvanized steel, they are built to withstand the rigors of the tropical climate. These strong structures are covered with 180-micron polyethylene sheets that diffuse light, creating the ideal growing conditions for the crops inside.

Pest Control and Climate Control: Cultivating Ideal Conditions

In a tropical climate like Indonesia, pest control and climate management are crucial. To deal with this, the sides of the greenhouse are constructed with a 50-mesh insect screen, protecting the crops from unwanted invaders. Furthermore, fixed windows on the top of the greenhouses facilitate efficient air circulation, ensuring optimal conditions for plant growth.

Advanced Climate Control: The Key to Success

Argos has incorporated advanced climate control systems, including airflow fans and thermal screens. These systems help fine-tune the temperature and humidity levels inside the greenhouse, creating the ideal environment for cultivation.

A Nursery for the Future: Producing Seedlings

Beyond the spacious greenhouses, Argos has set up a smaller indoor nursery. Here, the company produces seedlings that are later transferred to the main greenhouses for the remainder of their growing cycle. This innovative approach not only ensures a consistent supply of high-quality seedlings for their projects but also offers an additional income stream by selling seedlings to other local farmers.

Argos' closed greenhouse project in Indonesia is not only a testament to their expertise but a beacon of hope for modern and sustainable agriculture in tropical regions. With precision farming techniques, innovative technology, and a commitment to excellence, this project serves as a shining example of what is possible when passion meets innovation.
